Temporary Shoring

FirstMark Construction (General Contractor) was the successful bidder on the Emigrant Erosion Control Project for the Montana Department of Transportation. During the spring runoff flows of 2018 the Yellowstone River rerouted closer to Highway 89 through Paradise Valley near Emigrant, MT. This project required the Contractor to be responsible for temporary shoring to protect the existing fiber optic line and a proposed trench filled with rip rap to protect the existing highway. FMC worked prior to the bid with our design engineer to develop a system more cost effective than sheet pile. Shoring and rip rap protection was finished approximately 4 weeks ahead of the project completion milestone.
